black clothing: our fave fall picks

January 14, 2020

A universally-acknowledged truth—black clothing will never go out of style. It’s the perfect neutral for elegant simplicity and it makes a great base for pairing patterns or contrasting vibrant hues. No matter how you style your black, you can’t go wrong. Today, we’re showcasing some of our favorite black items from the Fall 2019 Collection. And while we could go on and on about how to style these pieces, we figured we’d hand the mic over to our very own Stylists for some insider styling advice. They know what they’re doing, so take note, and be sure to follow their accounts for more fashion inspo!

Check out how Maeve styled our Chance Bomber. This piece is one for the books. Done in a classic bomber cut with a zip-up design and dropped shoulders, this topper will add some extra pizazz to your look. She wore it with our Button Fly Skinny jeans and some chic wedges.

Style Tip: Zip up the Chance Bomber to wear it as a top!

An edgy pencil skirt is a must-have. Our Miranda Skirt checks all the boxes with its faux leather fabrication and sleek, easy-fitting design. Lisa styled this elegant look with a full tuck of the Serpentine Blouse and some knee-high boots to play off the leather vibe.

Style Tip: Snakeskin is in the spotlight this season—let it shine with a faux leather black skirt.

A classy, wide-legged trouser is always great to have on hand. The Chance Wide Leg is an ultra-flattering choice thanks to the high rise and structured knit fabrication. To dress things up, Kat went for a black-and-white look, featuring our Snap Blouse and Dressed Up Shrug. Don’t forget a long necklace for the final touch!

Style Tip: Fully tuck your blouse and rock a cropped cardigan to get that legs-for-days look.

The Minimalist Dress is the little black dress (LBD) that every woman needs! The midi-length, form-fitting dress features inseam front pockets and shirred short sleeves. Cheri styled it with slouchy, heeled boots and a leopard coat, and we’re all about it!

Style Tip: There’s no better way to dress up a LBD than with a pop of print, and leopard pairs perfectly with a black palette!

People often forget about black denim, but we’re here to change that! Our Cinch Skinny jeans come in a clean black wash with a skinny fit, making them great for dressing up or down. Kaitlin has got the right idea when it comes to festive dressing. She paired these classic black jeans with the white Snap Blouse and colorful Holiday Blazer. Add a pair of heels that match the stitching in the blazer.

Style Tip: Pack a different cardigan and swap out the blazer for a great day to night transitional outfit!

The Pivot Jogger is where style meets comfort. These slightly slouchy bottoms have a wide elastic waistband and cuffed hems so you can pivot from one activity to the next with ease. Style it with the Python Blazer for a dash of print, pointy toed booties, and a statement purse to add a bit of fringe.

Style Tip: For a casually chic vibe, style these joggers with a feminine tee and a fierce snakeskin blazer.

What if we told you black and brown can go together in the same outfit? Don’t believe us? Take a look at how Dee did it! She styled the Repose Cape over the Turtle Tee with our uber-comfy, black High Legging. These high-rise leggings feature a flat, wide waistband to hug you in all the right places.

Style Tip: Chocolate is the flavor of choice this season! Pairing with black will balance out your look for a fun play on dark tones.

The Swanky Tee is a sleek, tunic-length number with long, raglan sleeves and a shirred V-neckline. The top may have swanky in the name, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dress it down for a playful, casual feel. Lindsay styled this tee with joggers and sneakers. You don’t need to go full-out fancy to look like a million bucks!

Style Tip: The V-neckline of the Swanky Tee is perfect for showing off a chic silk scarf.

The St. Regis Blouse offers the perfect amount of luxury with its lace detailing and button up design. It features long sleeves and scalloped, lace eyelash edging for a delicate hemline. MJ paired this dazzling top with our Original Wash Skinny jeans and the Beast Belt for a pop of skin print. She tied it all together with the Renaissance Coat—a fall fave!
