How to Make Your Life Easier

September 4, 2014

We love versatile clothes, multitasking beauty products, and any tips and tricks that make life a little easier! Whether you are planning a holiday vacation, reorganizing your closet to make room for your fall wardrobe, or would simply like to make the most out of your day, here are some tips some of our CAbi staff that help them get through any day!

“When you’re working with a smaller suitcase, pack outfits that can transition from day to night. I wear the same base piece or two and give a twist to my look with an accessory or a bold pattern for a night out on the town. A portable travel steamer is also a great tool to keep your outfits wrinkle-free after having been folded in your suitcase.”

“When seasons change, but the weather isn’t quite cold enough for a winter coat, I keep a light jacket that goes with everything in my car. Denim or neutral leather are good options, because they add a classic element to your outfit, and add another layer of warmth in the evening.”

“When I pack, I keep everything hanging on hangers and then lay it all in my suitcase, folded over on itself. It’s bulkier, but SO great when you get to your destination and are able to have everything organized in the closet in a matter of seconds, rather than spending precious vacation time moving in!”

“When “back to school” is in the air, I always get lured back to the idea of getting more education … and Open Yale Courses offers free semester-long classes where you can listen to full lectures online!”

“Space bags! I used to live in Maine, where it’s freezing in the winters and hot and humid in the summers, and I needed to store all my thick coats and wool sweaters in the summers. Space bags are a great, compact way to store clothes, they last a long time, and they fit under your bed or in the closet. Plus, now I use them as extra storage so I can buy more CAbi … It’s a win-win!”

“I shower at night. Not only does it save me time on blow-drying my hair, but it also leaves my hair with a little more texture instead of being so sleek and clean as it is right after I wash it. Also, after I shower and while my hair is still wet, I put a couple products in it. I use S Factor Smoothing Lusterizer by TIGI and Moroccanoil Treatment by Moroccanoil. I put a little of each in the palm of my hand, rub them together, and then apply it to the ends of my hair (no need to put the product on the top of your head, as this can make your hair look greasy!). These products help to make sure my hair isn’t frizzy once it dries, protect my hair from the heat of my curling iron in the morning, and keep my hair healthy … not to mention, they smell fantastic!”
