transitional style we’re wearing now!

July 26, 2018

These past few weeks have been nothing but sunshine, iced lattes, beach days, and top-down joyrides. Yes ladies, it’s high summer, and we’re having an absolute blast! But with a stunning Fall Collection already available, you might already be looking ahead to all those fabulous fall layers and feeling torn between the easy elegance of endless summer and the excitement of autumn.

Good news: you can pair summer’s easy elegance with the excitement of fall for a perfect match! We called in two brilliantly stylish fashion bloggers with an eye for all-things-trending (as well as what’s yet to come!). With the help of Lisa Fergus from Balancing Lisa, and Johnna Lynn Lynch from StushiGal Style, we’ve dreamed up transitional fashion outfits that’ll have you beautifully pairing your favorites from Spring ’18 with new Fall favorites. Each brings her own sensibility to these two Collections, sharing stunning transitional fashion outfit ideas you’ll have to see for yourself.

“Wearing a trench is always a chic way to brave a rainy summer monsoon! If it’s a little warm out, try rocking the Tanner Trench by draping it over your shoulders. That way, it can serve as a layer to protect your clothing from the rain, while adding some flare to your look. It also looks great when paired with the Thrive Top.”

“I don’t think there’s anything more sophisticated and elegant than wearing a cardigan tied around your neck and shoulders! That’s what makes this one of my favorite looks. To combat the heat, try wearing a sleeveless top like the Viola Blouse with the gorgeous fall-colored Aerial Cardigan tied around your neck. It really is the best of both worlds. It’s like having one foot in fall and the other in summer!”

“This outfit is what texture-mixing dreams are made of! By taking the Whitney Shirt and adding velvet and corduroy pieces from the Fall 2018 Collection, this outfit becomes one that easily goes from day to night. When it came to styling, I wanted to keep it classic but fun. By adding my favorite cabi spring jewelry, eyelet bag, and teal nail polish, my outfit became perfect for transitioning to fall weather, yet still works for those summer nights.”

Featured Items: Journey Jacket, Whitney Shirt, Authentic High Straight, Interlock Block Heel, Drop Sparrow Necklace

“This is my favorite of the three looks! I love the idea of wearing a beautiful spring-colored top like the Cassidy, paired with fall joggers and boots. It’s merging the two seasons, but in an effortless way. By adding my summer neutral bag, white watch, and the Lookout Earrings, the pairing is great for the summer months, but honestly because of the jacket, joggers, and boots, it takes me right through the fall months. More bang for our buck!”

“Hello, lady in red! I love pairing spring denim with fall footwear. Especially my crop denim styles like the Kick It Crop. By taking a classic spring look like denim and a dressed-up sweatshirt and adding fall pieces like leopard print shoes, a great coat, and a scarf, this outfit suddenly becomes perfect for either season. Plus, all these pieces are all timeless, so they will be with you for years to come!”

There’s no reason to wait until the fall months to wear some new fall styles. I’m all about getting your money’s worth with clothing, so wearing your spring and summer pieces into the fall and winter months, and vice versa, is absolutely key!

  1. Don’t be afraid to mix fall textures with spring colors. Not only will it allow the outfit to make sense in the summer months, but it also allows you to have fun with your fashion. Thinking out of the box is never a bad thing!
  2. Wear at least one spring piece with your fall selections, and don’t forget to add spring accessories! (Bags, jewelry, belt, even nail polish!)
  3. Layers are your friends! By taking one of your favorite spring pieces (this can be anything from a dress to a blouse) and adding fall layers, the outfit takes on an entire new look. Now that’s getting the most out of your wardrobe!
